Way to Go Alisa!

We are so proud of Alisa, today she earned her Young Woman Recognition Award! She set a goal to earn it and worked very hard to achieve her goal. She did a lot of amazing projects and her testimony has really grown. She has already made plans to earn her Honor Bee. She is one impressive young lady. Love ya Sweetie :)

Fablehaven 5

Alisa really loves the Fablehaven book series & they just had a big launch party at a local High School for the 5th & final book in the series. We couldn't pass on the opportunity to attend along with 3,000 other screaming fans of the books. All the girls really had a great time. There was little comedy routine, fairy ballet, characters from the book, and the much anticipated book signing...

Alisa & Jer waited over an hour in line to get Brandon Mull's signature on her books. I was lucky enough to entertain the other 2 girls. First at the school but when Kyra's Mission of School Destruction kicked in we moved to a Del Taco play land which was better equipped for a ferocious 2 year old.
One very cool thing about the book launch party is that you also get to meet the illustrator Brandon Dorman. Kaitlyn really likes his drawings & has put the latest poster in her room.
The Quiet Box!! In the book this is a magical box which holds dangerous criminal, or just someone you don't want causing trouble, destruction, and mayhem. Inside time ceases to exist for the occupant and they enter into a never ending dreamland, all reigns quiet. Oh, to have one of these at home... I can only dream.
Kaitlyn was having a great time until the "glow stick incident". During a skit they toss out glow sticks into the crowd for everyone to wave around. Our area however remained in the dark. Kaitlyn was very sad about this but things improved once she got to meet a fairy & 2 witches.

"Pi" Day

On 3/14 in honor of Pi (you know the mathematical constant whose value is the ratio of any circles circumference to its diameter...etc...) Alisa's Math class had a competition - Who after only 2 minutes of studying could remember the most digits of Pi? The winner would be given the honor of throwing a Pie at their Teacher! Alisa WON by remembering 46 digits of Pi! She creamed everyone else in her class the 2nd closest had remembered about 11 digits.

Here's the wind up... she is so fast she blurred...

I love how her Teacher flinches just waiting for impact...
CONTACT! But my girl is not done yet...after all this is a once in a lifetime experience. Come on admit it how many times have you wished you could have tossed a pie in one of your teachers faces?
Just look at that devilish little smile... What she did next was not captured on camera but Alisa took that pie and mashed it all the way around his head messing up a good hair day! Mr. Ibanez was a great sport & took it all in stride. Alisa did say that she was a "little worried" he might be mad at her... but she couldn't resist it. I am now vindicated in my claims that Math really does come in handy.

Monkey Girl

I could have sworn that I brought home a sweet little baby girl from the hospital 2 years ago! Somewhere along the way she has become part monkey. She loves to climb up & swing from her closet bar, now she is working on a flip. Her guardian angels are working overtime with this girl!

Catch Up!

All kidding aside I hope that this blog will at the very least help my family to remember the many wonderful and precious moments we have. Since I am such a pathetic scrapbooker (I am still working on year 1 for Alisa - Ouch!) I hear that the blog is the next best thing.

So here is a little review:

Kaitlyn was a fairy queen for her B-Day Party and had a lot of wonderful fairy friends who all earned their wings, and found their fairy magic.

Mom made this beautiful blanket for Kyra’s B-Day. She even included a tag since Kyra loves tags. Even as a little infant she would turn the toy, blanket, whatever around until she could grab onto the tag & if there wasn’t one… well she didn’t want it.

The girls had a great time picking out pumpkins this fall, running up & down to find the perfect pumpkin. Kyra was even a big help with the heavy lifting:
